The official campgrounds for the 2015 RAGBRAI are at Chris Larson Park along the riverfront just south of Sioux City’s downtown, and Riverside Park on the city’s west side. View the maps below for more details.

Both parks are located on the city’s bicycle trail, and are accessible via bike and automobile.

Both locations have availability for thousands of cyclists, and there will be information booths located at both parks.

Important Safety Information:

The Missouri River is a very dangerous body of water with an average of 1 person losing their life each year in the river near Sioux City.  The river is extremely fast and has several snags and places with strong undertow.  No one should ever attempt to swim in this river without a life jacket on.  Please stay clear of the river bank and the river for your safety.

The bicycle dip site is in a location with minimal current and should not pose any problem for dipping the back tire.  Please do not venture out on the dock or attempt to dip your tire at any other site other than the designated dip site.

I have a group of 62 people. We are the Marion – Cedar Rapids Road Hogs. Are you going to assign campgrounds for the groups? I have 12 people who are meeting us there and I will need to know where we will be located to tell them. Thanks for being on the committee and hosting Ragbrai this year. I was on 6 committees last year for when we were in Independence. I was on the Campgrounds one. It takes a lot of time and work. WE ARE REGISTERED. Iam just now getting our band numbers. I can send them to you when I get all of them.

Thanks again,
Kathy

We have 2 RV’s and a private vehicle for our team. Are you saying we don’t need reservations at either campground? Are there utilities at either site?

Parking for RVs will be at the Missouri River boat ramp and there is a designated lot in Chris Larson Park.

Housing< I am a little concerned that I have not had any contact from the housing committee, I sent my check and form on May 2. My son has medical issues and we travel with growth hormone that needs to be refrigerated. I am not sure if this will get to the housing committee, but who ever receives this, I would appreciate it if you could forward to them.

I am waiting on news of a place to stay. I have filled out a housing form the first part of May and sent the $ as well. My Ragbrai number is 208927. When can I expect a reply?

We have a registered RV and a vehicle pulling a trailer. Most of our team is planning on staying in tents. It looks like most of the RV parking in Sioux City is hard surface with no grass close by. Is that correct? Can our vehicle and trailer also park near the RV?

says:

There is grassy areas in much of the Chris Larson Park, and there should be space to set up tents near the RV area, depdngin on when you arrive.

My team is all arriving at different times on Saturday, and I am carrying the wristbands and vehicle decals. If some members arrive before me, will they be granted access to the campgrounds without those?
