Volunteers needed to help at RAGBRAI kickoff

Hundreds of volunteers are needed to help with the 2015 RAGBRAI kickoff in Sioux City.

Every year the ride attracts more than 20,000 cyclists to the starting town, where thousands of riders depart for a seven-day ride across Iowa.

This year’s ride begins in Sioux City on July 19, and riders will arrive in Sioux City on July 17-18. Volunteers are needed for many different roles, including but not limited to assisting in information booths, directing traffic, answering questions for travelers and much more.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City is Welcoming Sponsor

HRHS_SiouxCity_LogoHard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City has signed on as this year’s RAGBRAI® Welcoming Sponsor, the City’s Events & Facilities Department announced.

“The partnership between our team, and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City, is a natural fit for this year’s RAGBRAI Kick-Off Party,” said Erika Newton, Sioux City’s Events & Facilities Department Executive Director. “With the bulk of the activities concentrated at the Tyson Events Center, and neighboring Pearl Street, it makes sense to coordinate our activities as much as possible to provide attendees with a RAGBRAI send-off they won’t soon forget.”

“Being this year’s Welcoming Sponsor for RAGBRAI is so exciting for Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City,” said General Manager Todd Moyer. “If there’s a weeklong party with great music, food, and friends kicking off in our town, of course we have to be a part of it. We want to make sure everyone has a great time while they’re here in Sioux City, and we couldn’t be more excited to join the party in this way.”

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City will present Collective Soul at their newly redeveloped outdoor Battery Park on Friday, July 17th, in an effort to draw more people to Sioux City a day early.

The Tyson Events Center will host the official RAGBRAI Kick-Off Party on Saturday, July 18, in the arena’s parking lots, culminating with a concert by the iconic Huey Lewis & The News. Tickets are on sale now at the Tyson Events Center Box Office, online at TysonCenter.com, or by calling 800-514-3849.

Tickets are $15 if purchased by Memorial Day, May 25, and $20 after that date.
